  • Do you know how thermowell to be made and inspected before it comes to you(1)?
First: For stainless steel thermowell ,(one piece type, no welded on the body) If the quanity is big enough(maybe 5000PCS more, it is up to the size and quantity, for saving cost purpose),then: Buy stainless steel bar stock from steel factory (we need do material test and dimension test before the bar stock are accepted to my warehouse) Cutting the bar stock to be short pieces. Die-casting the short pieces into right shape Machining them on CNC machine (During machining, goods will be checked by QC every 20 minutes) Clear the thermowells. Do final test which include: Dimension test which including thread(by go&no go gauge) Leak test: we will inject 10 bar of high pressure air in to the thermowell, then put It under hot water for 1 minute to see if there is any air bubble leak out. 3. Surface test by eye, to make sure clear ,smooth and no burrs 4. Above test will be done 100% (Piece by piece) Packing them ready for ship If the quantity is small, then remove step #3, others keep unchanged

  • Shall we choose Stainless Steel Fittings or steel fittings ?
About Stainless Steel fittings and steel fittings With today`s world, stainless steel fittings are slowly but steadily replacing the traditional steel fittings. Most iron craftsmen understand the difference between the two almost similar products. But, to those who may need a simple explanation of the contrast of the two major iron products, the explanation in one sentence is that: Steel is made of pure iron that is prone to rusting or corrosion whereas stainless steel is a product of alloyed iron with an intention of curbing rusting. This feature is the main difference and reason of their popularity. PROs and CONs of Stainless Steel fittings in a Nutshell: PROs: Durability: unlike other steel products, stainless steel are manufactured with an extra ability to sustain corrosion. Thus are recommended for use in areas that experience long exposure to open air and moisture. Great designs: Besides the lengthy life spans, these products have an extra feature of great designs. Basically, they always present an irrefutable work of art. The man-shape connection fittings and the staircase handrail fittings are two popular examples of this great feature. CONs: Pricing: When compared to steel (pure) fittings, the stainless steel products may seem to be priced with some cut above the normal price. This to some may seem an undoing feature as some jobs are temporal. Thus such tasks may need a cheaper option for the short duration. Inside the Better-Fitting Stainless Steel Store. As professional online dealers, our store of Stainless Steel Fittings is second to none. We are online custodians of products ranging from the most popular to the least popular stainless steel fittings. The main products in store include: The common SS fitting: which can be employed alongside PVC in the fluid systems or one may also use it in the water control system. Elbow fitting: Is best suited for fluid pressure control systems on bends. They are used mainly for PVC piping system. The SS cap: it is one of the commonest fittings. It is majorly used for sealing fluid pipes as a sanitary precaution. The round head insert: it is a tough stainless head which is mainly used with machines or for a pipe fitting. The stainless steel used is of type 304 or type 316. Thus making it among the strongest and the most durable. Besides the products above, one can find most of our stainless steel products listing here. Verdict: Whenever durability needs to be coupled up with great efficiency; stainless steel fittings will undoubtedly emerge as the market`s favorite fittings. In most instances, stainless steel fittings are valued higher than steel fittings. The main reason why this is so is due to the cost of production. All our products are verified and ascertained for quality and durability. Thus, though some though some of the fittings may look a little costly, they are because of their outstanding quality. Our customers` reviews are the proof that our products are cheaper than anywhere else.

  • Thermowell
Thermowells Thermowells are tubular fittings used to protect temperature sensors installed in industrial processes. A thermowell consists of a tube closed at one end and mounted in the process stream. A temperature sensor such as a thermometer, thermocouple or resistance temperature detector is inserted in the open end of the tube, which is usually in the open air outside the process piping or vessel and any thermal insulation. The process fluid transfers heat to the thermowell wall, which in turn transfers heat to the sensor. Since more mass is present, the sensor`s response to process temperature changes is delayed. If the sensor fails, it can be easily replaced without draining the vessel or piping. To be representative of the average temperature of fluid, the thermowell must extend a few per cent of the inside diameter of the process pipe or vessel. A thermowell is typically machined from solid bar stock and gun-drilled to ensure a long straight bore that closely approximates the diameter of the installed sensor . A thermowell is typically mounted into the process stream by way of a threaded, welded, sanitary cap or flanged process connection. The temperature sensor such as a thermometer, thermocouple or resistance temperature detector is inserted in the open end of the thermowell and typically spring-loaded to ensure that the outside tip of the temperature sensor is in metal to metal contact with the inside tip of the thermowell. Thermodynamically, the process fluid transfers heat to the thermowell wall, which in turn transfer heat to the sensor. Since more mass is present with a sensor-well assembly than with a probe directly immersed into the process, the sensor`s response to process temperature change is slowed by the addition of the well. Since the mass of the thermowell must be heated to the process temperature, and since the walls of the thermowell conduct heat out of the process, sensor accuracy and responsiveness is negatively impacted by the addition of a thermowell. To be representative of the average temperature of fluid, the thermowell must extend a few percent of the inside diameter of the process pipe or vessel. A rule of thumb that is sufficient for most industrial applications (approximately 1% accuracy) is to ensure that the thermowell projects 5 times its own diameter into the process plus the length of its sensing element. So, for a grounded thermocouple spring-loaded into a thermowell with a 1-inch-diameter shank and a tip thickness of .25 inch, a typical immersion length would equal 5.5 inches (1 inch OD x 5 + .25 inch well tip thickness +.25 inch sensor wall thickness = 5.5 inches). Usually,we use three kind of material to make thermowells, they are red copper tube, brass bar stock and stainless steel stock.

  • Do you know to choose good gas valve?
Gas valves is widely used in kitchen to control the gas open or close (here gas means coal gas and natural gas). We know gas is dangerous in case it leaks,so how to choose good quality gas valves is very important for our life. Come on, follow me please! First,Please check if the gas valves has been certified by CSA or any other famous company, then check the list number on their website to make sure if it is true. Both of them works means the quality of the good shall be good. Second,if the good you find has not been certified by any famous company, don`t worry, we also can keep finding as below: 1)Check the the handle of gas valve, if the material is stainless steel 304. that means best if the material is steel with chrome plated, then the quality is good if the material is steel with nickle plated, then the quality is unsure, then we look next: 2)Check the drawing which is coming with the gas valve, if the gas valve is seal by TWO O-rings, that means good. 3)Check the seat ring beside the ball, if the seat ring is made by PTFE not plastic, that means good 4)If you can, check the ball, it should be very smooth, that means good 5)Check the body of the valve, if it has been heat treatment, that means good. 6)Turn on or off the handle of the valve, if you feel smooth but a little tight, that means good. Above are all my experiences that maybe will help you when choosing gas valves. good lucky!
